Construction & Design

The X-40 is designed by Niels Jeppesen and produced at the X-Yachts shipyard in Haderslev. The boat is constructed with X-Yachts' well-known steel boat frame, which ensures optimal strength and rigidity in the hull. This means a boat that can handle rough weather without compromising safety or sailing performance.
The hull is vacuum molded in sandwich construction with Divinycell, providing a lightweight but extremely strong structure while reducing weight for better performance.

Very well-maintained, serviced regularly and in 2023 received major updates and maintenance at the X-Yacht shipyard in Haderslev.
This includes new Elvstrøm sails, Furling boom, Coppercoat bottom paint and much more. All done by X-Yacht documentation is available.
In 2024, the batteries and cushions in the salon were replaced, also by X-Yacht.

The deep T-keel with lead bulb provides a low center of gravity and thus great stability, while the high rig design provides an efficient sail area that takes advantage of even light winds.

Bouw & Ontwerp

De X-40 is ontworpen door Niels Jeppesen en wordt geproduceerd op de scheepswerf van X-Yachts in Haderslev. De boot is gebouwd met het bekende stalen bootframe van X-Yachts, dat zorgt voor optimale sterkte en stijfheid in de romp. Dit betekent een boot die ruw weer aankan zonder in te boeten aan veiligheid of zeilprestaties.
De romp is vacuüm gegoten in een sandwichconstructie met Divinycell, wat een lichtgewicht maar extreem sterke structuur oplevert en tegelijkertijd het gewicht vermindert voor betere prestaties.

Zeer goed onderhouden, regelmatig onderhouden en in 2023 grote updates en onderhoud gekregen op de X-Yacht scheepswerf in Haderslev.
Dit omvat nieuwe Elvstrøm zeilen, Furling giek, Coppercoat bodemverf en nog veel meer. Alles uitgevoerd door X-Yacht en documentatie is beschikbaar.
In 2024 zijn de accu's en kussens in de salon vervangen, ook door X-Yacht.

De diepe T-kiel met loden bulb zorgt voor een laag zwaartepunt en dus een grote stabiliteit, terwijl het hoge tuigontwerp zorgt voor een efficiënt zeiloppervlak dat zelfs bij lichte wind profiteert.
