L`Egaloupio – Wauquiez Centurion 42 – Proven Bluewater Cruiser, ready to be sailed on the next adventure

L`Egaloupio is a French flagged Wauquiez Centurion 42/45, which is widely regarded as a fine bluewater cruising yacht. Designed by the renowned naval architect Ed Dubois and built by the prestigious Henri Wauquiez shipyard in France, Our 1989 example was professionally extended by the Wauquiez shipyard with a factory swimming platform, increasing her overall length to 45 ft while providing excellent access to the water and dinghy.

We purchased the boat in France in 2023 and after an extensive refit we departed on our circumnavigation in 2024. During the past two years she has safely carried us over 24,000 nautical miles around the world, proving herself to be a fast, reliable and comfortable offshore cruising yacht. Throughout our ownership she has been continuously upgraded and maintained, with major investments in the rig, hull, engine, electrical system and cruising equipment.

She is fully equipped for self-sufficient long-distance cruising with 600Ah lithium batteries, 825W of solar, modern Raymarine & B&G electronics, radar, AIS, a Rainman watermaker and comprehensive safety equipment. The solar panels produce enough power to run the watermaker on the lithium batteries and also to cook with an induction hob during the mediterranean summer.

Wheather your plans are ocean crossings, Mediterranean cruising or living aboard, she is ready for her next adventure. Apart from some minor pending repairs, she’s ready to go. She is a true bluewater boat, which will take you swiftly and comfortably to any place you dream of on earth.

Major upgrades & maintenance (2024–2026)
Hull & Deck
• Professional osmosis treatment (2024): after finding superficial osmosis, the hull dried
ashore for 9 months in Southern France and was professionally treated
• Protected with 5 coats of Gelshield 200.
• Professional rudder & skeg rebuild (2024), both reinforced with new laminate after 9
months drying. Rudder bearing changed.
• New solar arch, sprayhood and bimini (2024).
• New seacocks (2024)
• Teak deck previously de-screwed; screw holes professionally epoxy filled.

Rig & Sails
• Mast removed and professionally inspected in France (2024), minor corrosion treated,
Nyalic coated.
• New mast wiring, navigation lights and antenna cables.
• Complete standing rigging renewed (2024, >€11,000 professional replacement).
• New 150% genoa, mainsail and running rigging (2024).
• Two lower shrouds replaced in Fiji (2025) after broken strands were found; remaining of
rig inspected and found satisfactory.
• Furler bearing rebuilt (2026).

Engine & Drivetrain
• Perkins Prima M50 (~5,000 hrs; new meter reads ~2,350 hrs). Very reliable, never failed
underway. Runs well with slight grey smoke and no significant oil consumption.
• Major overhaul in 2026 including cylinder head, fuel system (Injectors and high pressure
fuel pump completely overhauled), heat exchanger corrosion welded, engine mounts,
timing belt, starter battery, lift pump, thermostat, exhaust elbow and full service.
• Propeller serviced; propshaft straightened, new PSS shaft seal and cutlass bearing,
shaft alignment completed.
• Transmission oil cooler coil renewed (2024).

Electrical & Navigation
• Complete new Victron electrical system with 600Ah Smart Lithium batteries, Lynx BMS
& Distributor, MultiPlus II inverter/charger, Orion chargers and SmartSolar MPPT.
• 825W solar array (525W rigid + 300W flexible).
• New Raymarine & B&G electronics including chartplotter, radar and AIS transponder.

Cruising Equipment
• Rainman portable watermaker (220V, 130 l/h), above asking price you can also inquire it
for 3.500 Euros.
• 100m anchor chain (40m added in 2024).
• New Plastimo Trans-Ocean 6-person liferaft (>24h).
• EPIRB battery replaced.
• New toilets and holding tank.
• New Mercury 6 hp outboard (2025).
• Windlass motor rebuilt (2025).
• 2 burner ENO gas hob (2025).
• New freshwater pressure pump (2026).

Items requiring attention
• Bow thruster control unit.
• Masthead light not fitted (new cable required). Steaming light needs to be changed
soon.
