The story of the RJ 140 begins in 1972, when a group of sailing enthusiasts wanted a boat that could beat the all-powerful Finnish Swans in the Swedish Gotland Off Shore Races.

Now, well over 50 years later, they are still doing it!

It was the Swedish designer Rolf Jacobsson who received the commission and designed this so-called Swan 2.0.

And so began Tollare Bruk's 'Miracle' in Saltsjö-Boo near Stockholm.

A recent engine with folding propeller, Garmin navigation and autopilot, full 2-component paintwork, teak deck inspected, the cushions have been replaced and upholstered in a stylish sand colour.

La historia del RJ 140 empieza en 1972. Un grupo de regatistas suecos quería construir un barco que pudiera competir con los yates Swan, que por entonces eran los líderes del mercado, en la famosa regata Gotland Runt. El diseñador Rolf Jacobsson diseñó un yate rápido, apto para alta mar y elegante, construido en Tollare Bruk, cerca de Estocolmo, siguiendo las normas de Lloyd’s.

Más de cincuenta años después, el RJ 140 sigue siendo un barco que impresiona. Navega rápido, mantiene bien el rumbo y se siente como en casa tanto en aguas interiores como en largas travesías marítimas.

Además, este RJ 140, el «Salsa», tiene una historia muy especial. Las tallas de madera de la cabina, entre las que destaca la preciosa estatua de Hanoman, recuerdan un viaje a Indonesia y le dan al barco un carácter único.

En los últimos años se ha prestado mucha atención al mantenimiento y la renovación. Por ejemplo, se ha instalado un motor Timray de 2020 con hélice retráctil AutoProp, se ha renovado el sistema de navegación con equipos Garmin (2022), en 2024 se instaló una nueva calefacción por aire caliente y en 2025 se colocó un nuevo génova. También se han cuidado con esmero la pintura, la cubierta de teca y los revestimientos.

Si buscas un clásico con carácter, apto para la navegación, que se haya mantenido con mucho cariño y esté listo para nuevas aventuras, este RJ 140 merece sin duda una visita.
