We are selling our steel Van de Stadt Caribbean 40 following a one-year voyage — we have decided to settle in the Azores.
Built by a Dutch shipyard in 1996. It holds a "Lloyd's approved" certification. Fully insulated with spray foam.
We bought it 2 years ago when it was returning from an Atlantic circuit. Finding a little corner to live by the water and in the sun was the goal. We found it, and a boat is made to sail…
This sailboat underwent a first refit in 2023 (fridge, water heater, new seacocks, all safety equipment, etc. — see detailed list).
In 2024/2025 we invested heavily to ensure a safe departure (hull overhaul, new rigging, new sails, etc. — see detailed list).
This boat is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to undertake long ocean passages. Fast, she covers a minimum of 150 miles in 24 hours with her 100m² of sail close-hauled.
We are the 4th owners.
The large, bright saloon with its 1.95m headroom offers a very comfortable living space.
