**Askold 48 LIBAVA** is an 18.6-metre traditional sailing yacht inspired by the elegant Dutch *herrenjachts* of the 17th and 18th centuries. Built in 2008 at a shipyard in Karelia, she features a wooden hull crafted from carefully selected pine, constructed with single-layer carvel planking over a laminated longitudinal and transverse frame structure.

Rigged as a single-masted gaff schooner, LIBAVA carries 102 m² of sail, combining classic design with modern synthetic sailcloth and a blend of traditional and contemporary running rigging. Auxiliary propulsion is provided by a **Valmet 23B0.1** diesel engine producing 88.3 kW (120 hp), delivering a comfortable cruising speed of approximately 8 knots. Electrical power is supplied by a new **SOLE** 6.6 kW (230V) diesel generator.

The yacht is equipped with a comprehensive range of navigation and onboard systems, including a Raymarine chartplotter, autopilot, radar, and VHF radio. Additional onboard equipment supports freshwater and seawater systems, bilge pumping, ventilation, electrical distribution, and waste management, ensuring reliable operation during extended voyages.

Accommodation is designed for up to 10 guests in five double cabins. Interior amenities include a spacious saloon, a fully equipped galley, three bathrooms with showers, and a sauna, making the vessel well suited for private cruising or charter operations. Certified capacity allows for up to 20 passengers.

One of LIBAVA's most distinctive features is her pair of fully operational ceremonial cannons, which enhance her authentic historical appearance and ensure she attracts attention in any harbour. Deck equipment includes a traditional manual windlass, a 100 kg Admiralty anchor with chain locker, and substantial ground tackle.

The vessel has benefited from structural maintenance, including repairs to sections of the framing and partial replacement of the starboard stern planking, helping to preserve both her integrity and traditional construction.
