Notes
2024 Sunreef 80 Eco, EUR 9,950,000
A unique opportunity to acquire a 2024-launched high-specification Sunreef 80 Eco, fitted-out for circumnavigation adventures and 100% ‘ready to sail’ at a great saving over list price.
FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
Launched at the end of 2024, THE IDLER is the most technologically advanced Sunreef 80 Eco on the water. The build was project managed from the start in conjunction with experienced and passionate owners which has ensured that this is a unique and exceptional yacht, well thought out and completed without compromise.
Being able to sail as much as possible was a key element to the design of The Idler, hence working on a fully custom North 3Di sail wardrobe with Square Top Main, Staysail and Genoa, Code Reacher, Helix Downwind Reacher and G2 Gennaker she can sail at speed when most other Sunreef 80’s are stuck to the water or burning diesel. Of course sailing is not just Clean, Silent running it also allows the Hydro Regen on the Props to recharge the batteries with up to 7kW per prop. But when the wind doesn’t blow and you have to go under power her fully electric propulsion motors let you cruise in near-total silence. There’s no hum, no vibration—just the sound of the sea. It’s a transformative experience.
The Solar Skin recharges the house batteries with up to 32kW per hour which means no diesel generator is required to run the systems, aircon, Watermakers etc, this is especially important for guests who value calm mornings, quiet evenings, and immersive time with nature and a clear commitment to sustainability. Every element of her design reflects modern luxury with a lighter footprint, offering all the space, comfort, and innovation you could want in a large catamaran – without compromise.
The Idler is equipped with an impressive 32 kW solar skin system, harnessing the sun’s energy to recharge the batteries, all while reducing emissions. Imagine cruising silently across the open sea, knowing that you are reducing your environmental impact. The solar energy allows for extended periods at sea, whether you’re exploring remote coastlines or simply enjoying a peaceful day on the water. The Idler has managed to sail for over 7 days while crossing the Atlantic without needing any intervention from the generator and that was running aircon and all other systems as normal.
THE IDLER has a Huge inventory of equipment, extras, spares, toys advanced features and custom designed one of a kind options. She also comes with a fully fitted out 20ft shipping container for storage and workshop use. Full inventory List available on request.
THE IDLER is Commercially registered and ready to charter if required. She has the potential to command up to €90,000 per week in charter revenue with annual net profit returns of €500,000 possible while still offering owner use alongside charter. Contact us for more information on how this can work for you.
THE IDLER represents a rare opportunity to step straight into ownership of a brand-new Sunreef 80 Eco, without the wait at a considerable discount over the current new build price. She is ready to go, you don’t need to buy anything, just turn up in your favourite swim shorts/bikini and sail away!
OWNER’S COMMENTS:
I have been very impressed with all the “Eco” tech, it is an absolute luxury to have such silence all the time; a huge contrast to our experience aboard our previous boat with the constant background drone and vibration of generators and engines. I was sceptical about how it would actually perform in the real world, but it has exceeded my highest expectations. The autonomy it would give in the more remote parts of the world opens up all sorts of possibilities.
MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS
The Sunreef 80 is an all-around luxury sailing catamaran that boasts a seamless combination of exterior and interior spaces that flow effortlessly into one another. The clever bridge deck and superstructure design offer an exceptional level of onboard comfort, while generous natural wood finishes, high bulwarks, and graceful lines reflect a modern style imbued with classic elegance.
With a completely fresh superstructure concept, the 80ft yacht evolves even further, embracing design enhancements inspired by the brand’s forward-looking Sunreef NEXT vision. This electric sailing catamaran now features a saloon plan with outstanding customization potential. A vast, central lounging area delivers panoramic views and endless configuration options. It opens gracefully onto both the bow terrace and the aft cockpit, inviting an immersive onboard experience.
The bow section now benefits from a thoughtfully redesigned lounge space. Owners can choose between reshaped trampolines for a classic sailing feel or opt for luxurious sun pads to create a tranquil front terrace, perfectly shielded from sun and wind — tailored for any mood or moment.
To the aft, the saloon blends into a generous cockpit, which is now more expansive than ever thanks to a shortened superstructure and optimized design flow. This space is further extended by a large aft platform, not only ideal for tender storage but also connected to the enhanced Ocean Lounge. Here, innovative folding platforms create a sprawling relaxation zone, while a cleverly integrated garage beneath the sofa discreetly houses a jet ski — maximizing storage without compromising comfort. Below deck, the hulls provide expansive volumes that support a fully bespoke layout, allowing for limitless possibilities in crafting sophisticated and functional yacht interiors.
What truly enhances the sailing experience is the commitment to sustainability. The Sunreef 80 Eco is a silent catamaran, powered by clean propulsion and advanced energy systems – marking a bold leap forward in sustainable yachting. Available in classic and solar, the Sunreef 80 delivers a blend of yachting innovation, elegance, and eco-conscious cruising for the modern sailor.
