Fairline

Today, Fairline Yachts builds luxury yachts that stand out for their superb craftsmanship, state-of-the-art design and high-quality fittings. Length range: 33 to 68 feet.

An eventful history

Once a shipyard with high output, production has continued since 2015 – following insolvency – on a much smaller scale, but still with the very best boatbuilding quality.

The company was founded in 1963 by Jack Newington. He had bought a former gravel pit on the River Nene in the east of England, where he set up the company premises. Five years later, Newington presented his first boat – a 19-foot river cruiser built entirely by hand.
As early as 1971, his son, Sam Newington, took over the management of the company. Under his leadership, the initially small boatbuilding business expanded into a series production yard with worldwide distribution. By 1979, the number of employees had grown to 140. In 2002, the company's ten-thousandth boat was built.

Popular boats on an economic roller coaster

In 2005 there was a management buy-out, and a year later the yard was taken over by a London-based financial investor. After further economically difficult years, Fairline Boats became insolvent in December 2015. On 26 January 2016, the assets were taken over from the insolvency estate by the Russian businessmen Alexander Volov and Igor Glyanenko and transferred into a new company, Fairline Yachts Ltd.
Today, Fairline Yachts builds luxury yachts with a relatively small workforce, standing out above all for their high craftsmanship, state-of-the-art design and high-quality fittings. The length of the yachts ranges from 33 to 68 feet.

Configure boats yourself online

A special feature: in August 2020, Fairline Yachts launched its new website F//LINE 33, where users can design their boats to their own ideas: www.f-line.com. Inspired by the online configurators of the automotive industry, the website offers a new level of individualization that was promoted as unique in the boating industry. This allows future owners to build or configure their "own" boat on a tablet or even a smartphone.
