The Swedish yard is one of those boatbuilders that make no compromises when building their vessels. Nimbus sport boats and cabin yachts are accordingly robust and therefore long-lasting. They were designed for the demands of the rough waters of the north and have always enjoyed a good reputation as safe all-weather yachts. Torsionally rigid hull shells, plenty of wood in the interior and efficient engine packages reflect the character of these typical northern yachts. The coupé and commuter models are also popular in more southerly waters, winning people over with a spacious, covered deck saloon and cleverly arranged, typical cruising details.

Clever: the "Smart Speed"

Because typical Nimbus yachts are not necessarily built for the high-speed sector, the yard has developed an interesting hull shape called "Smart Speed", also with a view to conserving resources. Smart Speed is designed for comfortable outings at speeds between 4 and 20 knots. At these speeds, most boats produce large stern waves and consume relatively large amounts of fuel, and therefore emit a lot of emissions. With "Smart Speed", Nimbus has developed a hull that runs comfortably and, above all, in an environmentally friendly way across the entire speed range. In practice, the hull has no planing threshold and offers comparatively low fuel consumption at all speeds.

With the E-Power concept (Environmental Power), Nimbus was one of the first Scandinavian yards to get an environmentally friendly construction concept "under way", covering the entire boatbuilding process from production technology to climate-friendly materials.
