The cabin cruiser
Cabin cruisers and cabin yachts are – as the name suggests – fitted with a cabin (living space below deck). This makes them at least basically liveable (in the form of a small sleeping cabin), though they can also reach apartment-like proportions (on superyachts, for example).
A cabin is the living, lounging and/or sleeping area below deck on a boat, a yacht or a ship. Accordingly, cabin cruisers and cabin yachts – whether driven by engine or wind power – are at least basically habitable. The size of the cabin (headroom? possible number of berths, size of the galley, the shower rooms and toilets, etc.) logically depends on the length and beam of the boat. It ranges from simple cuddy cabins to multi-level saloons on superyachts and megayachts.
