Sunbeam

Sunbeam Yachts stands for Austrian boatbuilding craftsmanship that fears no comparison on the international stage.

The joy of sailing = the foundation of success

With the Sunbeam brand, a model range was created that has stood as a synonym for Austrian yacht building for decades.

It all comes down to experience

Another yard whose foundation was built on the accumulated experience of several generations of one family. In 1875, Hans Schöchl founded a joinery at Mattsee near Salzburg; in 1950, the third Schöchl generation started building boats. As in almost every other yard in Europe, the materials polyester and epoxy made a completely new kind of series boat building possible in the early 1960s (vacuum-bagged sandwich laminate process).
At the same time, the Schöchls discovered their sailing ambitions and collected regatta wins well into the 1970s. In 1975, a new yard building was erected; in 1978, a branch office was founded in Italy and the first exports went to the USA and Japan. At the beginning of the new millennium, another yard hall was built (1,500 sqm).
Since then, the Schöchls have been "collecting" awards for their yachts – almost every year, a Sunbeam is voted "Yacht of the Year" or similar somewhere in the world.

Sport and luxury

The Schöchl yard takes pride in working flexibly and with a strong focus on its customers. The very solidly built Sunbeam yachts are considered especially durable and superbly finished. Their high resale value speaks for itself. Thanks to an excellent technical standard, the Schöchl yard achieves a great deal of individuality across the various Sunbeam models. So with this yard you can speak, without exaggeration, of a true boat building manufactory combined with a strictly planned process flow – series boat building that has more than earned the title "Sport-Luxury-Cruiser" (chosen by Schöchl itself).
