Najad Logo

Generations of cruising sailors have dreamed of owning a Najad – yet only relatively few have been able to make that dream come true. Najad

Why are durable, fast Scandinavian yachts so popular in the cruising scene? The Swedish shipyard Najad is one reason why!

Personalized semi-custom yachts

The yard promotes the idea that, as a future owner, you can turn your yacht into a personal statement through different layout options and personalized extras.

An expression of individuality and style

Najad has been building boats on the island of Orust off Sweden's west coast since 1971. From the very start of production right up to today, the yard has stood for quality, rugged and durable design, accomplished craftsmanship and convincing sailing comfort. The yachts with their distinctive burgundy-red boot stripe are extremely popular among long-distance and blue-water sailors. They have already completed spectacular voyages in the remotest corners of our oceans and seas. Only a few other brands, most of them likewise Scandinavian, can point to such a strong reputation.
Thanks to their high build standard, Najad yachts are highly sought after on the used boat market.

Red stripe and center cockpit

One striking detail: most Najad models are fitted with a center cockpit, providing safe and comfortable standards on the open sea.
In 2003, financial difficulties led to Najad being taken over by a Dutch businessman, who brought the designer duo Judel/Vrolijk on board. This resulted in completely new hull lines and designs for Najad, while retaining old "trademarks" such as the center cockpits. After the economic crisis of 2008, the yard was sold to an English company, which in turn filed for bankruptcy in 2011. Najad was then taken over by a powerboat manufacturer on Orust, which traded from then on as "Nord-West/Najad" ... and filed for insolvency in 2013. After being acquired by a Swedish businessman, Najad was finally taken over by the Swedish yard that builds Swede Star sailing yachts. Najad thus returned to its original site in Henan on Orust and is once again able to employ a large share of the proven, former Najad specialists. Something that is reflected not least in the continuing outstanding finish of all Najad yachts.
