2019 Dragonfly 32 Evolution, EUR 299,000
The Dragonfly 32 Evolution “VONNE” is far more than a standard production yacht. She is an exclusive semi-custom project commissioned by the renowned yachtsman Jack Setton, who worked closely with Judel/Vrolijk & Co. and Quorning Boats to create a Dragonfly 32 Evolution optimized for high-performance single-handed sailing.
Based on the already comprehensively equipped production model, “VONNE” received numerous bespoke modifications. These include six electric Harken 46 winches, four of them featuring rewind functionality, a completely redesigned line handling system leading all control lines directly to the helm, a modified mainsheet arrangement with additional winches, and a cockpit ergonomically optimized for effortless single-handed operation. The specification is further enhanced by a retractable bow thruster, autopilot, furling headsails and the Jefa Swing Wheel steering system. The result is a high-performance trimaran that combines outstanding control with exceptional ease of handling, allowing even demanding sailing manoeuvres to be carried out comfortably by a single person. This represents a rare opportunity to acquire a semi-custom Dragonfly personally commissioned by Jack Setton.
The Dragonfly 32 Evolution represents the final and most advanced development stage of the successful Dragonfly 32 series. Compared with the earlier Touring and Supreme versions, she features the latest generation of Quorning’s distinctive wave-piercing floats with approximately 20% greater volume. These provide significantly increased buoyancy, greater reserve stability and improved control, particularly at higher speeds and on reaching courses. Combined with the taller carbon rig and the extended carbon bowsprit, the Evolution delivers noticeably improved light-air performance and even greater overall sailing capability than her predecessors.
For many years, the Dragonfly 32 Evolution has been regarded as one of the most successful performance trimarans in her class. Her low displacement, generous sail plan and highly efficient hull design deliver remarkable sailing performance even in light winds. At the same time, the trimaran configuration provides exceptional form stability, allowing the yacht to sail with minimal heel while maintaining high average speeds and offering a remarkably comfortable and confidence-inspiring sailing experience. Quorning’s proven Swing Wing folding system allows the amas to be folded within minutes, reducing the beam from approximately 8.25 metres to just 3.85 metres—an invaluable advantage for marina berths, transportation and winter storage.
Below deck, the Dragonfly 32 Evolution “VONNE” impresses with a remarkably spacious and intelligently designed interior. The forward cabin offers a comfortable double berth, while the separate heads compartment provides privacy and convenience. The bright saloon features a generous seating area for relaxing on board, and the practical galley offers everything required for extended cruising. An additional double berth aft provides comfortable accommodation for a small crew or family.
Under sail, “VONNE” is equally well equipped. Her complete sail inventory is in good condition and offers the right configuration for a wide range of wind and weather conditions. Combined with the cockpit layout specifically optimized for single-handed sailing, she delivers an exceptional balance of exhilarating performance, effortless handling and outstanding safety.
The Dragonfly 32 Evolution “VONNE” is aimed at discerning sailors looking for a truly exceptional yacht with exclusive semi-custom features and outstanding sailing performance. The combination of the proven Dragonfly 32 Evolution platform and the bespoke modifications initiated by Jack Setton makes this yacht a genuine rarity on the international market.
