For sale: Beneteau First 35 (1984) – solid sailing yacht with strong sailing characteristics
This 1984 Beneteau First 35, designed by Jean Berret and built by the renowned French shipyard Beneteau, is a classic sailing yacht that convincingly combines performance and comfort. With a length of 10.80 meters, a beam of 3.60 meters, and a draft of 1.95 meters, the vessel features a balanced hull shape that guarantees both speed and stability. The displacement of 4,750 kg, of which 2,200 kg is ballast, contributes to reliable and safe sailing behavior, even under more challenging conditions.
The First 35 is known as a true cruiser-racer: fast, stable, and close-hauled, while maintaining onboard comfort. The interior accommodates six fixed berths distributed across three cabins, with additional options in the saloon. The classic mahogany finish combined with blue upholstery creates a warm and refined appearance. Thanks to the headroom of approximately two meters, staying on board is pleasant. The galley is practically laid out and equipped with a two-burner gas stove, a refrigerator, and a sink. Furthermore, the vessel features a manual toilet and a 15-liter boiler for hot water.
The ship has been in the possession of the current owner since 2012 and has always been maintained with care. The 29 hp Volvo Penta 2030C diesel engine was installed in 2017 and underwent maintenance by a specialist in 2024. The sail wardrobe is complete and includes, among others, a De Vries mainsail and genoa (2005), supplemented by a storm jib, spinnaker, and gennaker.
In 1999, the underwater hull was preventively treated with epoxy against osmosis. The vessel is structurally maintained and is on shore every two years; the last antifouling was applied in 2024. In addition, the vessel was recently inspected by a recognized expert. The corresponding inspection report is available and can be viewed on board during a viewing.
Given the age of the ship, it should be taken into account that some parts may require attention or replacement in the long term. However, this is in line with what can be expected from a ship of this construction period.
The Beneteau First 35 is an excellent choice for sailors looking for a sporty, reliable, and characterful yacht with proven qualities. A solid vessel ready for new voyages and long-lasting sailing pleasure.
