Gezina Gretha

De 'Gezina Gretha' is in 1894 als roefschip 'Vertrouwen' gebouwd. Het was een scheepje van ca. 17 ton en de opdrachtgever was S. van der Woude uit Buitenpost.
Zij is hiermee een van de eerste ijzeren skutsjes.

Tekeningen van het zeilplan van het schip, uit de periode toen het verbouwd was tot pleziervaartuig (met kajuit, rond 1951), worden bewaard in het archief van het Fries Scheepvaartmuseum te Sneek.

Gezina Gretha is sinds 2020 in bezit van haar huidige eigenaren die het erfgoed graag over zouden dragen in de volgende zorgzame handen. De ruime kuip met fraaie massief teak banken en deksels bieden een fijne plaats om het toekijkend publiek te groeten, want reken daar op... u krijgt hier volop bekijks en duimpjes omhoog. De gezellige kajuit die wederom fraai opnieuw in mahonie is betimmerd geeft net even wat meer comfort dan voorheen. Een royale kombuis, fijne zithoek en ruim toilet ontbreken dan ook niet. In het vooronder is er plaats voor vier kooien, twee vooruit in de punt, de andere twee ter hoogte van de mast. Het is met de stahoogte redelijk goed te doen, die beloopt van 185cm naar 165cm in de kajuit. Vooronder is het meer bukken, daar meet het ca. 130-110cm.

In 2010 is het vlak vernieuwd bij scheepswerf Talsma te Heeg
in 2011 is het schip opnieuw met fraai mahonie betimmerd door Mulder in Wergea, tevens is destijds het teak dek (zadeldak) vervangen door een nieuw dek
in 2013 is het grootzeil vernieuwd
in 2022 is een boegschroef geinstalleerd en is ook het onderwaterschip in de antifouling gezet en zijn anodes vervangen
in 2023 is de mast vervangen door een stalen mast bij Stallinga Scheepswerf te Leiden

Gezina Gretha

The Gezina Gretha was built in 1894 as a cabin ship. It was a small vessel of about 17 tons and the client was S. van der Woude from Buitenpost.
This makes her one of the first iron skiffs.

Drawings of the sailing plan of the ship, from the period when it was converted into a pleasure craft (with cabin, around 1951), are kept in the archives of the Fries Scheepvaartmuseum in Sneek.

Gezina Gretha has been owned by her current owners since 2020 who would like to transfer the heritage into the next caring hands. The spacious cockpit with beautiful solid teak benches and covers offer a fine place to greet the watching public, because count on that.... you will get plenty of looks and thumbs up here. The cozy cabin, once again beautifully re-carpeted in mahogany, provides just a little more comfort than before. A spacious galley, nice sitting area and spacious toilet are not lacking. In the forecastle there is room for four berths, two forward in the tip, the other two at the height of the mast. The headroom is reasonably good, going from 185 cm to 165 cm in the cabin. Forward is more bending, there it measures about 130-110cm.

In 2010 the plane was renewed at shipyard Talsma in Heeg
in 2011 the ship was rebuilt with beautiful mahogany paneling by Mulder in Wergea, also the teak deck (saddle roof) was replaced by a new deck
In 2013 the mainsail was renewed
in 2022 a bow thruster was installed and the underwater hull was antifouled and anodes replaced
In 2023 the mast was replaced by a steel mast at Stallinga Shipyard in Leiden.
