1981 Skye 51, 165 000 EUR

Designed by Kaufmann & Ladd and built by Mao Ta Shipyard in Taiwan, this Skye 51 is a bluewater ketch-rigged cutter with a solid GRP hull, Airex/GRP composite deck and encapsulated fin keel with rudder on skeg. She measures 16.10 m overall, with a 4.34 m beam and 2.20 m draught. The accommodation comprises three cabins, six berths, two toilets and one shower.

A professional refit project was carried out between 2012 and 2017, including osmosis treatment, deck coatings and reconstruction of the engine room. The Perkins 4236 engine, Borg Warner transmission and Walter V-Drive were rebuilt, with approximately 100 hours since the rebuild. Further work covered the standing rigging, primary wiring, plumbing, tanks, steering and seacocks. Domestic power is supplied by 800Ah AGM batteries, with a Victron 80A/2000W inverter-charger and LED lighting.

Sail inventory includes Doyle full-batten mainsail and mizzen, a new staysail, a serviced Yankee and a symmetric spinnaker. Deck equipment includes 11 self-tailing Lewmar winches, a Quick 1700W vertical windlass and 140 m of 12 mm galvanized chain. Navigation equipment comprises a Raymarine C90w plotter, ST7001 autopilot, ST60 instruments, Class B AIS and handheld VHF. On board are an eight-person ocean liferaft, safety equipment, and an Avon 2.85 m Hypalon tender with a Yamaha 9.9HP four-stroke outboard.
