Legendary sailing boat / Zeesboot "Swart Johann" A piece of living maritime history

The traditional Zeesboot "Swart Johann" is for sale - a historic sailing ship with a unique past and special cultural significance. Originally built in 1901 by the renowned Holzerland boatyard in Barth for the fisherman Hermann Ahrns from Gristow, it was given as a christening present to his son Albert Ahrns, who went fishing with it until old age.

From fishing boat to maritime legend

After decades in active use, the boat was extensively restored by Horst "Hotta" Wagner and was launched for the second time in 1981 - under a new name: "Swart Johann", as a tribute to the legendary Stralsund Zeesfischer Johann Krüger (1886-1955). He was not only an imposing figure in black trousers, vest and bowler hat, but also a gifted sailor whose personality, humor and craftsmanship live on in numerous stories to this day.

The black-painted hull, the traditional design and the historical context make the "Swart Johann" a truly unique piece - a traveling monument to North German fishing culture.
