""Calacimbre" is Spanish for "lullaby", pointing to the fact that she was initially imported to Gran Canaria in 2007, and sailed there as a private yacht until 2022. She has never been chartered, has only been lightly sailed, and is in exceptional condition. We bought her in 2021, and sailed her to Croatia where she now is berthed. The following features proves her versatility:

Recent maintenance work comprises:
- All 6 major curved acrylic windows replaced and re-caulked. (This removes the single largest problem you will probably face when buying a second hand 42DS)
- Underwater hull taken down to old epoxy and checked for osmosis, added 5 layers of new epoxy and full Hempel Silic One treatment
- Cutlass bearing and Volvo drive shaft gasket replaced
- Rudder taken off and checked for rudder bearing wear
- Major through-hull fittings and valves replaced
We prefer sailing off-season, so we equipped Calacimbre for all season sailing and living on board. The following features provides this ability;

VAT STATUS
The boat never left the EU (except for entering international waters) , but VAT status is never the less unpaid. It was imported to the Canaries and 7% sales tax was paid by the first owner. The Canaries are a free trade zone outside of the EU VAT cooperation, and does not claim VAT. From 2022 it was moved to Croatia via Italy, and has been kept under EU VAT exempt for temporary import (which is renewed every 15th month).
