**Launet** is a rare 55-foot custom-built cruising and racing sloop, designed by **Daniel Tortarolo** and built in France in 1990. Inspired by the same design philosophy as renowned Whitbread offshore racers such as *L’Esprit d’Équipe II*, she combines a fast, performance-oriented hull with a strong steel structure, delivering both speed and reliability for bluewater cruising.

A comprehensive refit completed in 2021, together with a carbon mast and rigging upgrade by **Axxon Composites**, significantly improved her sailing performance and efficiency. Premium **Harken** deck hardware and **Navtec** hydraulic systems provide accurate and responsive sail handling in a wide range of conditions.

Equipped with a complete inventory of **North Sails**, Launet is equally suited to competitive sailing and long-range ocean passages. Antifouling was renewed in 2025.

Below deck, the yacht offers a practical and comfortable cruising layout while retaining her performance heritage. Accommodation includes three cabins with up to ten berths, two shower compartments, and a separate head, making her well suited for extended voyages and liveaboard use.

Her onboard systems have been modernized with **Raymarine** navigation electronics, solar panels for increased energy independence, and a dependable 85 hp **Nanni** diesel engine installed in 2016. A **Aquabase** watermaker producing 60 liters per hour further enhances onboard autonomy.

Constructed with a steel hull built from **C35 steel** (5 mm plating on the hull bottom and 4 mm on the deck), Launet is designed for strength and durability in offshore conditions.

Currently located in **Martinique** and registered under the **French flag**, this yacht represents decades of proven ocean-going experience, complemented by thoughtful upgrades for modern cruising and passagemaking.
