Background
Under the leadership of the Admiral Cup winner Michael Schmidt the Hanse 470e was developed. He wanted a fast racer cruiser.
The design team Judel/Wrolik was responsible for design.
They choosed to use the advanced manufacturing method prepreg glassfibre with epoxy resin over corecell and vacuum bagging
The main bulkhead are laminated into the hull adding to extra stiffness
The boat have a subframe of galvanized steel
This makes the e-model about 800 kg lighter than polyester laminat
