Die Segelyacht “Haithabu“, eine Bavaria 36cruiser, ist ein von Bavaria Yachtbau in Giebelstadt in den Jahren 2002 - 2005 sehr erfolgreich produzierter Serienbau aus GFK. Die Yacht ist im Handauflegeverfahren gefertigt und entspricht den Anforderungen der Europäischen Sportbootrichtlinie der Entwurfkategorie A (Hochsee). Die Zertifizierung ist durch das International Marine Certification Institute in Brüssel bestätigt worden. Die Yacht wurde seit 2018 alle 2 Jahre sicherheitstechnisch durch die BG-Verkehr geprüft (das letzte Zertifikat der Kategorie C war gültig bis März 2026). 
Das Schiff bietet 3 Doppelkabinen, einen großzügigen Salon, Navigationsecke mit Kartentisch, Pantry mit Kühlbox, Gasherd u. Backofen und eine Nasszelle mit fließendem Wasser und WC.
Die Ausrüstung an Deck ist einfach und mühelos zu bedienen. Selbstholende Fall- und Genuawinschen sind so dimensioniert, dass sie auch von einer schwächeren Crew bedient werden können. Die Yacht verfügt über außergewöhnlich gute Segeleigenschaften. Leichtfüßig segelt das Schiff hoch am Wind, ist wendefreudig wie eine Jolle. Sie segelt ausgewogen und kursstabil.

The sailing yacht “Haithabu,” a Bavaria 36cruiser, is a fiberglass production model that was very successfully manufactured by Bavaria Yachtbau in Giebelstadt between 2002 and 2005. The yacht is hand-laid and complies with the requirements of the European Recreational Craft Directive, Design Category A (ocean-going). Certification has been confirmed by the International Marine Certification Institute in Brussels. Since 2018, the yacht has undergone safety inspections every two years by BG-Verkehr (the most recent Category C certificate was valid until March 2026). 
The vessel features 3 double cabins, a spacious saloon, a navigation corner with a chart table, a galley with a cooler, gas stove, and oven, and a wet room with running water and a toilet.
The deck equipment is simple and easy to operate. Self-tailing halyard and genoa winches are sized so that they can be operated even by a less physically strong crew. The yacht has exceptionally good sailing characteristics. The boat sails nimbly close to the wind and is as responsive as a dinghy. It sails with good balance and maintains a steady course.
