Designed by Sparkmann / Stephens—you can see and feel it, even when the wind picks up a bit.
The boat is currently available for viewing at its berth in Lauterbach, Rügen, and test sails can be arranged if desired.
A trailer approved for road use at 25 km/h can be purchased separately.
The Alpa 950 is a unique design by Sparkman & Stephens; it features classic lines and was built in 1978 at the Alpa shipyard as an S-frame boat made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP).
The boat was mass-produced from 1971 to 1978.
It is in good condition but, of course, still requires attention and maintenance to ensure it remains safe for offshore cruising.
Much has been renewed and improved in recent years, so the boat can be sailed easily with a small crew or even single-handed.
All teak on the deck and hull was replaced around 2012.
The most significant repair was completed in 2013. The underwater hull is now coated with several layers of epoxy, fiberglass cloth, and Coppershield antifouling.
The copper coating keeps the underwater hull free of growth and barnacles for 15–20 years.
In recent years, a bow thruster with remote control and a holding tank were added, and the fixed windshield was replaced.
Two usable sets of sails and two sail bags are included in the sale.
A gennaker and a spinnaker can be purchased separately.
The boat is free of osmosis.
The boat was originally designed and built as a seagoing cruising and regatta boat. However, expectations have changed over the years. As a result, it is now also well-suited for use as a day sailer or weekend boat.
The mooring at the dock in Lauterbach on Rügen can likely be taken over.
This means the boat can also be used as vacation accommodations, essentially on the water.
Since we’ve owned it, the boat has been stored in a hangar during the winter.
