The design is built to last: constructed by a professional shipbuilder at the Bremer Vulkan shipyard based on plans by Horst Stichnoth. Shipbuilding steel in the hull, aluminum for the deck and superstructure, galvanically isolated. The shaft, rudder, and keel are solidly dimensioned and filled with oil to prevent rust—a construction method designed for use, not for sitting idle in the harbor.


The 2024 refit brings the vessel up to current standards: deck and superstructure newly primed and painted, cockpit wood treated multiple times, underwater hull freshly refinished. The Beta Marine diesel engine (built in 2018) with approx. 217 hours on the clock runs reliably; battery sets were replaced in 2021; the Raymarine autopilot (EV200) is from 2020.
