Das Segelboot Sabouyima braucht eine neue Perspektive.
Vor vielen Jahren haben wir eine Reise durch Westafrika gemacht und dabei die Idee bekommen, ein eigenes Boot zu bauen und damit neue Orte zu entdecken. In Eigenregie haben wir daraufhin in mehrjähriger, leidenschaftlicher Arbeit ein modernes Segelboot nach den vorliegenden Originalplänen des Konstrukteur Kurt Reinke gebaut. Alle Änderungen wurden eng mit dem Konstrukteur abgestimmt.
Mit dem Boot waren wir von unserer Heimatregion Rhein-Main, über Ostsee, Nordsee, Atlantik und zuletzt im Mittelmeer unterwegs. Derzeit liegt das Boot in Nydri, Lefkas, einer griechischen Insel im Ionischen Meer.
Wir haben das Segelboot damals auf den Namen Sabouyima getauft, einem Ausdruck aus der westafrikanischen Mandinka-Sprache, was sich ungefähr mit “aus gutem Grund” übersetzen lässt.
Seit dem Tod meiner Miteigentümerin möchte ich das Boot gerne in verantwortungsvolle Hände abgeben. Deshalb suche ich Menschen, die in der Sabouyima nicht nur eine Yacht sehen, sondern ein Werkzeug für positive Veränderung. Gemeinwohlorientierte Projekte sind mir wichtig, weil sie diese Welt lebenswerter machen und für uns alle bereichern. Solche Projekte können aus allen Teilen des nachhaltigen Spektrums kommen.
Seit 1991 im Seeschiffsregister eingetragen und obwohl grundsolide gebaut, ist doch einiges in die Jahre gekommen. Insbesondere die Navigationsinstrumente müssen erneuert werden und im Überwasserbereich stehen Arbeiten zur Beseitigung von Rostspuren an.
Ich freue mich über Anfragen von Menschen und Initiativen, die eine nachhaltige und gemeinwohlorientierte Nutzung dieses Segelschiffes anstreben.

The sailboat Sabouyima needs a new perspective.
Many years ago, we took a trip through West Africa, which gave us the idea to build our own boat and use it to discover new places. We then set out on our own and, over several years of passionate work, built a modern sailboat based on the original plans provided by the designer Kurt Reinke. All modifications were closely coordinated with the designer.
We’ve sailed the boat from our home region of the Rhine-Main area, across the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and most recently in the Mediterranean Sea. The boat is currently moored in Nydri, Lefkada, a Greek island in the Ionian Sea.
We named the sailboat Sabouyima, a term from the West African Mandinka language that roughly translates to “for good reason.”
Since the passing of my co-owner, I would like to place the boat in responsible hands. That’s why I’m looking for people who see the Sabouyima not just as a yacht, but as a tool for positive change. Projects focused on the common good are important to me because they make this world a better place to live and enrich all of our lives. Such projects can come from any part of the sustainability spectrum.
Registered in the maritime registry since 1991 and although solidly built, some parts have shown their age. In particular, the navigation instruments need to be replaced, and work is needed above the waterline to remove traces of rust.
