Oyster 495 Teewinot from 2024
The Oyster 495 “Teewinot” is part of the Oyster 495 series built by Oyster Yachts in the United Kingdom. Developed as a modern bluewater cruising yacht, the model combines offshore capability, short-handed handling and long-range cruising comfort within the 50-foot category.
Named after Teewinot Peak in Wyoming, the yacht takes its name from the Shoshone and Bannock word meaning “many pinnacles.” The dramatic mountain landscape and spirit of adventure associated with the name reflect the challenges, exploration and rewarding experiences that offshore sailing can offer.
Launched in August 2024, Teewinot represents one of the later-generation Oyster 495s and features a comprehensive cruising specification with a strong focus on offshore operation and onboard autonomy. Built in hand-laminated GRP with vinylester resin and an encapsulated lead keel structure, the yacht was designed for efficient and comfortable passagemaking in a wide range of conditions.
The yacht has cruised extensively throughout European waters, including voyages to Spain, Croatia and Brittany, and has proven to perform comfortably and predictably in offshore conditions. Teewinot is equipped with in-mast furling, fully electric winches, an extensive sail inventory including laminated offshore sails, a Code 0 system and heavy-weather sails.
Additional equipment includes bow and stern thrusters, CZone integration, B&G navigation systems, onboard Wi-Fi, a watermaker, Fischer Panda 8000i generator, Dometic climate control system, expanded lithium battery capacity and Mastervolt power management.
The interior is finished in Oyster’s Cool Oak joinery scheme and arranged with three cabins, two en-suite bathrooms, a spacious saloon and a dedicated navigation station, creating a practical layout for extended cruising and life onboard.
Minor cosmetic signs of use are present, consistent with regular cruising and operation.
