Designed als schnelles Fahrtenschiff, 1995 gebaut als robuster Balsa-Epoxy Leichtbau hat SPOSMOKER II knapp 10 Jahre lang auf teils spektakulären Expeditionen die Welt von Cuxhaven bis Spitzbergen, Kap Horn und die Antarktis befahren. 2005 bis 2007 von seinen jetzigen Eignern mit viel Sachverstand und Liebe zum Detail in Deutschland zum komfortablen Reiseschiff umgebaut und ausgerüstet, bewährt sich der Cat seither auf langen Törns überwiegend im Mittelmeer und erlaubt ein bequemes Leben an Bord für bis zu 10 Personen. Seine Größe sorgt für flottes und ausgeglichenes Segeln, kein Nicken in kurzer See. Vor Anker sichert die ruhige Lage erholsamen Schlaf ohne Rollen. Das unverbaute offene Deck gewährleistet das hautnahe Erleben des Segelns und der Elemente und immer klare Sicht bei allen Manövern. Der Wendewinkel am Wind mit Dagger Boards down ist vergleichbar mit üblichen Monohull Cruisern bei 7 – 10 kn Geschwindigkeit, auf Halbwind- und raumen Kursen sind 12 - 15+ kn zu erreichen. Das Schiff bietet einerseits eine bequeme und großzügige Plattform für ein Eignerpaar mit gelegentlichen Gästen. Andererseits ist das Layout auch konzipiert für kommerziellen oder Club-Betrieb mit einem Skipper (Vorschiff Stb) und bis zu 9 Mitseglern in 4 Doppelkabinen und dem Vorschiff Bb mit ensuite Nasszellen.
SPOSMOKER II wird laufend gepflegt und verbessert. 2023 wurde das Schiff komplett NEU lackiert, 2024 die Stb Maschine & Getriebe sowie die Seereling ERNEUERT, ein NEUES Trampolin-Netz gespannt.

Designed as a fast cruising vessel and built in 1995 using a robust balsa-epoxy lightweight construction, SPOSMOKER II has sailed the world for nearly 10 years on sometimes spectacular expeditions, from Cuxhaven to Spitsbergen, Cape Horn, and Antarctica. From 2005 to 2007, its current owners converted and equipped it in Germany into a comfortable cruising vessel with great expertise and attention to detail. Since then, the catamaran has proven itself on long voyages, primarily in the Mediterranean, and offers a comfortable life on board for up to 10 people. Its size ensures brisk and balanced sailing, with no pitching in choppy seas. At anchor, the calm ride ensures restful sleep without rolling. The unobstructed open deck guarantees an up-close experience of sailing and the elements, as well as a clear view during all maneuvers. The close-hauled turning angle with daggerboards down is comparable to that of standard monohull cruisers at 7–10 knots; on half-wind and broad reach courses, speeds of 12–15+ knots can be achieved. Maximum speed under engine power is 11 knots.
On the one hand, the vessel offers a comfortable and spacious platform for an owner couple with occasional guests. On the other hand, the layout is also designed for commercial or club operation with a skipper (fore section starboard) and up to 9 crew members in 4 double cabins and the fore section port side with ensuite bathrooms.
SPOSMOKER II is continuously maintained and improved. In 2023, the boat was completely repainted; in 2024, the starboard engine and transmission were replaced, and a new trampoline net was installed.
