Mon Swan 44, qui n'a connu que trois propriétaires avant moi, a été mis à l'eau en mars 1990. C’est un superbe exemplaire du Swan 44 mkI, conçu par German Frers. Basé sur la côte sud de l'Angleterre, il a participé à des régates et des croisières dans le Solent et la Manche. Vendu à son deuxième propriétaire en 2002, il a été réaménagé pour faciliter la navigation en équipage réduit. Il a notamment été équipé d'un enrouleur Harken, d'un pilote automatique B&G et d'un guindeau électrique Lofrans. Sous ce second propriétaire, il a participé à plusieurs régates, dont quelques-unes du RORC et diverses régates de clubs, avant d'entreprendre une croisière de 13 mois aux Canaries, dans les Caraïbes, au Panama, aux îles Galapagos, au Chili, au cap Horn, en Argentine, au Brésil, aux Açores, puis de retour dans le Solent.

Vendue à son troisième propriétaire avant moi à l'automne 2011, elle a été entièrement rénovée à Lymington. Les travaux ont notamment inclus une nouvelle peinture professionnelle de la coque en blanc (elle était auparavant bleu foncé), le remplacement du gréement dormant, l'installation de nouveaux instruments B&G et de nouvelles batteries, ainsi que diverses améliorations des systèmes électriques et de plomberie, et bien plus encore. My Swan 44, which has had only three owners before me, was launched in March 1990. It is a superb example of the Swan 44 mkI, designed by German Frers. Based on the south coast of England, it has participated in regattas and cruises in the Solent and the English Channel. Sold to its second owner in 2002, it was refitted to facilitate sailing with a small crew. Notably, it was equipped with a Harken furling system, a B&G autopilot, and a Lofrans electric windlass. Under this second owner, she competed in several regattas, including a few RORC events and various club regattas, before embarking on a 13-month cruise to the Canary Islands, the Caribbean, Panama, the Galapagos Islands, Chile, Cape Horn, Argentina, Brazil, the Azores, and then back to the Solent.

Sold to her third owner before me in the fall of 2011, she was completely renovated in Lymington. The work notably included a professional repaint of the hull in white (it was previously dark blue), the replacement of the standing rigging, the installation of new B&G instruments and new batteries, as well as various improvements to the electrical and plumbing systems, and much more.
