The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 449 offers a practical cruising arrangement with four cabins, ten berths in an 8+2 configuration and two heads. With a 13.76 m length, 4.24 m beam and 2.2 m draft, the layout is suited to extended trips as well as shared use. Fresh-water capacity is 330 litres and fuel capacity is 200 litres. VAT has not been paid in the EU.

Propulsion is provided by a Yanmar diesel engine rated at 39 kW, with approximately 4,960 operating hours. A bow thruster, electric bilge pump and shore-power connection are fitted. Sail handling is arranged for straightforward cruising, with a furling genoa, in-mast furling mainsail and winch handles; the mainsail and genoa were updated in 2023.

On deck, equipment includes a teak cockpit, bimini, cockpit cushions, bathing platform, deck shower, gangway and deck tent, together with a dinghy and anchors. The onboard systems include autopilot, cockpit GPS chartplotter, depth and speed instruments, compass and VHF. Interior amenities comprise heating, a refrigerator, cooker with oven, double galley sinks and kitchen equipment, while solar panels, radio/Bluetooth, cockpit speakers and TV add practical comfort. Safety equipment includes a life raft, flares, fire extinguisher, first-aid kit, lifebuoy and safety harnesses.
