LystHusBåden – Innovative, Self-Sufficient and Eco-Friendly Houseboat
Sold as Seen – Significantly Below New Price
This LystHusBåden has been used as a demonstration vessel for three seasons and is now offered for sale at a price substantially below replacement cost.
The boat is sold as seen, and the buyer should expect costs related to updating woodwork and replacing or servicing certain equipment. The asking price reflects these conditions.
Self-Sufficient Cruising Powered by Solar Energy
Under normal conditions, LystHusBåden can cruise continuously using solar power without draining the battery bank. Propulsion is provided by two powerful and very quiet electric motors, offering a comfortable, environmentally friendly, and nearly silent cruising experience.
Please note: One of the electric motors is currently defective and will require repair or replacement by the buyer.
The catamaran hull consists of unsinkable pontoons made from recycled PE plastic and requires no toxic antifouling paint.
CE Certified and Safe
The boat is CE certified in Design Category C, approved for navigation in winds up to 13 m/s and waves up to 2 meters. The foam-filled pontoons ensure buoyancy and make the vessel unsinkable.
Floating Home with Modern Comfort
LystHusBåden combines a pleasure craft, houseboat, and holiday home in one innovative concept with multiple possible uses.
Interior layout includes:
Fully equipped kitchen with sink, fridge/freezer, oven, and cooktop
Bathroom with freshwater flush toilet, washbasin, and separate shower
Washing machine
Forward saloon
Double berth aft
Two terraces
Large rooftop cockpit/lounge area with panoramic views
Flexible Year-Round Use
LystHusBåden is ideal for extended stays both in marina and underway. It can cruise through Europe’s inland waterways toward the Mediterranean during part of the year and alternatively be placed — with or without pontoons — on land as a luxury annex for the remainder of the year.
Self-Sufficient Technical and Energy System
2 x 500 L insulated freshwater tanks
500 L insulated holding tank
50 L hot water boiler
Electric heating via battery system
10 m² modern solar panel installation
Large battery bank and inverter (12V, 24V, 48V and 230V)
Silent emergency generator
Propulsion via 2 x 6 kW electric motors (approx. 2 x 12 HP equivalent)
Cruising speed approx. 3–4 knots in full sun without battery drain
Sustainable Materials and Healthy Indoor Climate
The interior is constructed using solid CLT timber elements, which naturally regulate humidity and contribute to a healthy and allergy-friendly indoor environment.
Low-energy double-glazed windows (wood inside, aluminum outside)
Highly insulated sandwich construction in floor and roof
Exterior deck and railings in heat-treated Kebony wood
Catamaran design without need for antifouling paint
Important Information
As a demonstration vessel, the boat shows signs of use and is subject to various faults and deficiencies. The buyer should expect to invest in updates and servicing to bring the vessel fully up to date.
The attractive asking price reflects these factors and offers an opportunity to acquire an innovative and self-sufficient houseboat at a significantly reduced cost compared to new build.
