Notes

1978 Albin 30, EUR 34,900

The Albin 30 was designed by Per Brohall. Built by Albin Marine AB in Sweden. The big brother of the Albin 25 is a true half glider and features a hefty engine, a tilted Perkins of 115 hp, with very modest fuel consumption at tour speed as the engine then runs about 1200 RPM but if needed at 1800 RPM more than enough power for the rivers or Zeeland waters.

The very heavy (weight) Perkins engine is tilted slightly to starboard in the boat, and therefore to keep the boat balanced all the tanks are on the port side. At the time, the boat set the new Albin line, slightly sleeker boats with a more contemporary appearance, especially above deck; however, in the hull one can clearly see the family traits of the other Albin powerboats.

The hull clearly bears the later signature of Per Brohall and in particular the bow and foreship are recognizable and the stern is more substantial (compared to the Albin 25) in order to smoothly arrive at a true semi-glide boat. The kinks in the hull are rounded, making it a semi round bilge.

The boat is definitely a good, sleek and actually timeless design. With some modifications, the boat could also keep up well today and be labeled as contemporary. The boat has perfect sailing characteristics and with the powerful engine a decent speed is achievable.

The layout of the forward cabin: two separate beds in V-shape in the lockable forward cabin, on the port side a separate dinette and on the starboard side you will find the kitchen and toilet.

The aft cabin is furnished with two full-size beds and washing facilities (sink).

The open wheelhouse (can be closed off with a tent roof) has a double steering bench and a separate table and bench.

Supposedly there are about 10 Albin 30's delivered in the Netherlands, so this is a rare opportunity!
