GENERAL MANTEINANCE
Every year, RUSH has been thoroughly maintained with the highest standards, including annual engine and transmission service, ensuring she remains in top operational condition, ready to deliver exceptional performance and reliability. This meticulous approach has ensured that RUSH remains as capable and as beautiful as the day she was restored.
HISTORY
RUSH – A One-of-a-Kind Kevlar Offshore Masterpiece by Fabio Buzzi
At the end of the 1990s, Italy’s Guardia di Finanza commissioned the legendary engineer Fabio Buzzi to design a high-performance hull capable of maintaining exceptional speeds in rough waters. The objective was to intercept and combat smuggling operations across the Sicilian Channel and southern Italian coast. The result was a breakthrough in marine engineering—several cutting-edge vessels powered by Yanmar diesel engines, ZF dual-speed gears, and Trimax surface drives were delivered in military configuration.
Among these, only two special units were configured for race and pleasure use. One of them, originally named Royal Oak, achieved legendary status as the European Endurance Champion in 1999.
From Champion to Icon: The Rebirth as RUSH
After years of changing hands and installation of new engines, eventually being abandoned in storage near Naples, Royal Oak was rescued in September 2014 by the current owner. A complete restoration brought the boat back to its original glory with the intent of leisure usage—and it was fittingly renamed RUSH.
RUSH was rebuilt and rigged by Ing. Fabio Buzzi himself in Annone Brianza, and his signature remains proudly in the engine room as a seal of authenticity.
TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS AND PERFORMANCE
• Hull & Top Construction: Full Kevlar, twin-stepped deep-V hull
• Engines: Twin Yanmar diesel, fully serviced, 650 original running hours
• Drivetrain: FB Trimax surface drives with ZF dual-speed transmissions
• Top Speed: 65 Knots (approx. 75 MPH)
• Cruising Speed Range: 35–50 knots
• Fuel Efficiency: Extremely low consumption per mile (90 lt p/h total @ 45 kn)
• Configuration: Small saloon in the bow, double bed cabin, marine toilet
Thanks to her diesel engines and Trimax drive system, RUSH offers remarkable reliability, unlike many offshore boats with gasoline powerplants. Always stored on her custom-built cradle, she’s only in the water when used—ensuring immaculate condition over the years.
PEDIGREE & LEGACY
In the early 2000s, the hull design patent of the Sunracer 38 was sold to Sunseeker, who adapted it to produce the Sunseeker XS 2000. While visually similar, the Sunseeker version features a heavier fiberglass hull, different styling, and 420 hp Yanmar engines. RUSH is the prologue and remains the original FB Design, high-performance Kevlar version, true to Buzzi’s uncompromising vision.
CONDITION & AVAILABILITY
RUSH is in mint condition and is now ready for a discerning new owner. Recent engine servicing has her fully prepped for immediate use. The current owner can provide an extensive photo archive documenting the full refit history. It can be shipped worlwide since it fit a 40 feet container.
A unique fusion of racing pedigree, engineering excellence, and functional design, RUSH stands as a true collector’s piece—offering the thrill of a powerboat with the reliability of a cruiser.
