SY SHE-RA — CNB BORDEAUX 60 | PHILIPPE BRIAND DESIGN

She-Ra is a privately owned, extensively upgraded and genuinely proven bluewater yacht with an unusual history.

Purchased by her current owner in Hong Kong, she was taken to Thailand for an extensive refit before setting out on a voyage through the South China Sea, Japan, the Russian Far East, Sea of Okhotsk, Aleutian Islands and Bering Sea to Alaska. She spent nearly 20 months exploring Alaska and British Columbia through all seasons before continuing via California, Mexico, the Galápagos Islands and Panama Canal to the US East Coast.

From New York she crossed the Atlantic to Europe and subsequently returned to the Mediterranean, where she is now located in Mallorca. Most of this voyage was sailed single-handedly by her owner.

She-Ra has been configured specifically for long-distance and single-handed sailing, with extensive redundancy and remote control of key systems.

Her equipment includes an 1800Ah 24V lithium house bank, solar and Watt & Sea hydro generation, Onan 12kVA generator, Sea Recovery watermaker and a comprehensive B&G navigation, radar, AIS and autopilot installation.

Major equipment installed or upgraded in recent years includes the Volvo Penta D4-230 engine, Onan generator, Gori 3-blade folding Overdrive propeller, navigation and onboard electronics, air-conditioning and electrical systems. Dyneema running rigging was replaced in 2023.

The yacht is equipped with four electric Harken winches, hydraulic vang and backstay, carbon Park Avenue boom and a self-tacking storm jib track.

SAILS

The North Sails 3Di Ocean mainsail and jib were fitted in 2021 and have approximately 60,000 nautical miles of offshore use.

The jib remains in good serviceable condition.

The mainsail now requires major service and, depending on the new owner's intended use, should realistically be considered for replacement. A replacement does not necessarily need to be another North Sails 3Di Ocean sail; that specification was chosen for the owner's extensive offshore sailing programme.

The sail inventory also includes a North Sails G2 and Code 55 with Facnor top-down furler. The Code 55 requires repair.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation consists of a large forward owner's suite with queen berth, separate shower and electric head, two double guest cabins each with their own shower, sink and electric head, and a spacious saloon.

The electrically lowering saloon table and sofas provide additional sleeping accommodation, giving a total capacity of up to eight berths.

A separate former crew cabin retains its own manual toilet, shower and sink. The crew bunk has been removed and the space is currently used for storage and equipment.

The galley is extensively equipped with refrigeration/freezer capacity, ice maker, electric four-burner stove and oven, microwave, washing machine and dryer. A dishwasher is fitted but is currently non-operational.

CURRENT CONDITION

She-Ra is being sold honestly in her present condition.

She is not being presented as a freshly cosmetically refitted marina yacht. She is a yacht that has been extensively sailed and continuously developed during serious offshore cruising, and the asking price reflects the work still remaining.

Known items requiring attention include the forestay, injector, shift actuator and gooseneck. The mainsail requires major service or replacement, the Code 55 requires repair, some exterior fabric requires attention and there are cosmetic teak items. The dishwasher is currently non-operational.

These items are disclosed rather than hidden behind a superficial pre-sale refit.

She-Ra's strength is the considerable technical investment already made in the systems that matter offshore and a cruising history that demonstrates what the yacht is actually capable of.

She is a fast and comfortable Philippe Briand-designed yacht with a documented history of ocean crossings, high-latitude exploration and extended self-sufficient cruising.

This is a yacht shaped by voyages, not marina life.
