Wikiwiki has taken our family to places we once only dreamed about.

With her, we have crossed both the Atlantic and the Pacific, explored the Caribbean, Tahiti, Mexico and the US West Coast, and spent unforgettable seasons discovering the wild and beautiful coastline and islands of British Columbia.

She has always been much more than just a boat to us.

She has been our home on the water and our safe haven, wherever in the world we happened to be.

At the same time, Wikiwiki is a true performance sailing machine.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of her flying across the water – fast, light and seemingly effortless. We have often left much larger yachts behind while sitting comfortably in the cockpit, making coffee and enjoying a piece of cake.

That combination of speed and control, lightness and safety, is difficult to describe. It has to be experienced.

We have sailed alongside whales and dolphins, fished for salmon, tuna, rockfish and mahi-mahi, caught our own prawns and crab, welcomed family and friends aboard, and spent countless evenings watching the sun go down from the deck.

We fell asleep to the sound of the sea and woke to sunrise with a cup of coffee in the cockpit.

Wikiwiki made all of this possible – reliably, safely and with the extraordinary sailing performance for which the Outremer 5X is known.

Why We Are Selling

Earlier this summer, after returning from another six wonderful weeks aboard Wikiwiki, we initially decided not to sell her.

Quite simply, we realised once again how much we love this boat.

We therefore decided to keep her and began planning a substantial refit for our next cruising season.

Those plans have now become reality and the work has already started.

At the same time, however, we have had to acknowledge that our lives are changing. Our sons are grown up, we increasingly sail as a couple, and ultimately a smaller yacht will make more sense for the next chapter of our lives.

For that reason, we have decided to offer Wikiwiki for sale again – while continuing with the work we had already planned for ourselves.

If she is not sold, we intend to sail her south to Mexico in October and continue cruising with her.

We are therefore not stopping work on Wikiwiki because she is for sale. Quite the opposite.

2026 Refit & Maintenance Program

Wikiwiki is currently undergoing an extensive refit and maintenance program in preparation for continued bluewater cruising.

The work has already commenced. The engine and rigging work has been commissioned, and Wikiwiki is being moved to Vancouver, where the scheduled engine work will be carried out.

The mechanical and technical work is being carried out in British Columbia.

If Wikiwiki remains with us, we plan to sail south to Mexico in October. The exterior polishing and bottom paint are currently planned for Mexico, where the warmer and drier conditions later in the season are better suited to this work than the autumn climate in British Columbia.

These works are not being undertaken simply to prepare Wikiwiki for sale. They are the same works we are carrying out for ourselves in preparation for our own continued cruising.

A new owner will therefore benefit directly from the investment being made in Wikiwiki today.

The Outremer 5X

The Outremer 5X combines genuine offshore capability with exceptional sailing performance.

Her lightweight composite construction, carbon mast and performance-oriented sail plan make her fast in conditions where heavier cruising catamarans often need to motor, while her layout provides the space, protection and comfort required for extended life aboard.

Wikiwiki is the Owner’s Version with three cabins and has proven herself over thousands of ocean miles and two major ocean crossings.

She is not a yacht that has spent her life waiting at a dock.

She has crossed oceans, explored remote coastlines and been used for exactly the purpose for which the Outremer 5X was created.

A Yacht With a Story – and Many More Miles Ahead

Selling Wikiwiki is not an easy decision for us.

There is a tremendous difference between owning a yacht and sharing a significant part of your family's life aboard one.

For us, Wikiwiki has been the latter.

She carried us safely across two oceans and gave us experiences as a family that we could never replace.

But boats like Wikiwiki are built to sail, to cross oceans and to create adventures.

We would love to see her go to new owners who understand what makes an Outremer 5X special and who will continue to use her as she was intended to be used.

Until then, we will continue to sail her, maintain her and invest in her.

If Wikiwiki is still ours in October, we will point her bows south and sail for Mexico.

If she becomes yours before then, perhaps her next adventure will begin with you.
