Lagoon 42 — meticulously maintained, never chartered, and ready to cruise.

Private. Never chartered. Ready to cruise.

Finding a Lagoon 42 is easy. Finding a two-owner, never-chartered Lagoon 42 in the desirable three-cabin, three-head configuration—and already equipped for serious cruising—is not.

This 2016 Lagoon 42 is the kind of boat experienced buyers look for: privately owned, never exposed to the demands of a charter fleet, with low engine hours, and continuously maintained and upgraded by an owner who takes pride in keeping the boat right. Rather than waiting for the next owner to outfit her, the major cruising systems are already in place.

The Lagoon 42 has earned its reputation as one of Lagoon’s most successful cruising catamarans, delivering an exceptional combination of space, stability, performance, and ease of handling. Her bright, open salon flows naturally into the expansive cockpit, creating the kind of indoor/outdoor living space that makes extended cruising so enjoyable.

This is the three-cabin, three-head version—an especially desirable layout for owners who want privacy without giving up the remarkable volume and living space Lagoon built into the 42.

Power comes from upgraded twin Yanmar 4JH57 57 hp diesels driving SD-60 saildrives with folding bronze propellers. With approximately 900 hours on each engine, the propulsion package represents a significant advantage for buyers comparing this boat with higher-hour examples.

Cruising independence is equally impressive. An 11 kW Cummins Onan generator, Xantrex 3000 W inverter, AGM battery bank, and solar charging system provide the electrical infrastructure needed to spend extended periods away from the dock. Four Dometic air-conditioning units keep the interior comfortable, while a Sea Water Pro watermaker helps extend time between shore-side water fills.

The galley is outfitted for real cruising rather than occasional weekend use, with an Eno three-burner stove, Wolf electric oven, Vitrifrigo refrigeration, ice maker, and a separate two-door freezer.

The cruising inventory continues on deck with a Quick electric windlass, twin Mantus 25 kg anchors, stainless-steel davits, and a 10' Inmar RIB powered by a Tohatsu 20 hp four-stroke.

The exterior has also received attention where it matters. A brand-new trampoline and new sunshade cover the bow, while a full storm enclosure protects the aft seating area, making the cockpit a comfortable living space in a wide range of conditions.

The sailing package includes a fully battened mainsail, roller-furling jib, and four Harken 46 self-tailing winches, including two electric winches, making sail handling considerably easier for short-handed cruising.

The helm and navigation package includes B&G GPS, depth, wind, autopilot, and VHF, complemented by Raymarine radar. Everything is arranged with practical cruising in mind, allowing the next owner to step aboard and start using the boat rather than beginning another long list of upgrades.

Two owners. Never chartered. Three cabins. Three heads. Low engine hours. Generator. Watermaker. Solar. Air conditioning. Tender. Electric winches. Storm enclosure. New trampoline and sunshade.

Most importantly, she has been consistently cared for by an owner who stays ahead of the maintenance rather than waiting for something to break. That distinction matters when you are buying a cruising catamaran.

For the buyer who wants a Lagoon 42 that has enjoyed private ownership, has avoided the wear and tear of charter service, and is already equipped for comfortable extended cruising, this is a boat that deserves a very close look.

She is not waiting to be outfitted. She is waiting to go cruising.
