1976 Rival 34, EUR 27 500

The Rival 34, designed by Peter Brett, with its bulky hull and larger overhangs is a very stable and seaworthy sailing yacht.

The Rival is excellent for sailing solo, which I have done regularly (including round the Channel 2025, / North Sea, Wadden Sea 2026)

The boat has a classic look with beautiful lines. The deck is spacious and easily accessible. The Dibbes is well maintained and has regularly been on the shore in winter (also winter 2026). The interior is beautifully finished with dark teak and remarkably well kept. The salon has two sofas with table in between. The kitchen is practical and equipped with sink and spacious refrigerator. Cooking on Origo spirit cooker. To the right of the entrance is the chart table with the necessary equipment. The switch panel is directly below the entrance. There are 4 fixed berths; two in the cabin in the bow, and two on the saloon benches. In no time, a large double bed can be made in the saloon The pilot berth on the starboard side is not in use, but serves as ample storage for various purposes. To the left under the mast is the head with toilet and sink. The engine compartment is accessible via the removable cabin stairs, where the Sole Mini Diesel 27hp, newly installed in 2022, is displayed.

In recent years many improvements have been made:

1. The hull has been repainted at a shipyard.
2. Underwater hull applied primer and every year in antifouling
3. New rigging 2022
4. Sails washed and coated in 2022
5. Spray hood with new windows
6. Sleeping places enlarged in forecabin point and equipped with real mattress
7. Cushions replaced, backrests boarded in and fitted with cushions, extra cabinets behind backrest on starboard
8. Water tank removed and replaced with clean and practical plastic drinking water supply
9. Water filters fitted
