A boat trailer or a winter storage trailer for your sailing yacht? A multi-axle powerboat trailer for driving with a car-trailer combination? Or do you simply need a launching trolley for your sailing dinghy? At Boat24 you're sure to find what you're looking for – and we've also got plenty of information on every type of trailer.
Boat trailers can be divided into two categories. On one hand, there are trailers that are approved for road use, and on the other hand, boat trailers that serve only as storage trailers and may be moved within the marina grounds or towed from the storage spot to the harbor at a design speed of 10 km/h. Road-approved boat trailers are available for both sailboats and powerboats.
They are usually designed so that their support surfaces adapt to specific hull shapes and boat lengths. Boat trailers from well-known manufacturers are often developed in close cooperation with boatyards.
Boat trailers are especially popular for racing sailboats, as they allow easy transport to the regatta venue.
Powerboat owners who travel with a trailer make up a large community. These boat owners keep their boat on a trailer all year round and are therefore free to choose their cruising grounds. Depending on the weight and length of the boat, the market offers boat trailers with up to three axles. Smaller boats are often offered as a package directly with a trailer. If you decide on a boat trailer later on, you will find renowned manufacturers all over Europe.
Boat trailers should not be confused with a launching trolley. Launching trolleys are mostly used for smaller sailing dinghies, exclusively for "slipping" the boat into the water or for pulling the boat out. They cannot be towed behind a car.
A special trailer variant (mostly for racing boats) is a piggyback trailer, onto which the boat to be transported is loaded together with its launching trolley.
