When is a powerboat a classic?
When is a powerboat a classic? Here, too, a distinction has to be made between the purely theoretical definition of the term and the way it is used in everyday language.
The term classic is often applied to landmark designs and craftsmanship that are considered especially well-proportioned and harmonious. In that sense, even a modern, recently built boat with avant-garde lines, for example, could be a classic – or become one.

For its servicing and repair, but also for replacing entire engine components, there are now renowned yards and boatbuilding workshops that take on even complex restoration work.
Classic powerboats are often defined by the following criteria:
Classic powerboats are often defined by the following criteria: recognition well beyond their home region at the time of production, a traditional value that is now clearly recognizable, high quality of boatbuilding craftsmanship, a certain innovative potential at the time they were created, and an influence on the generations of powerboats that followed.
In everyday language, ALL boats built before the 1970s are also referred to as classics.
