Hardtop Yachts for Sale

The Hardtop Yacht

Hardtop yachts have become the design standard for the majority of powerboats – a fixed roof structure provides protection from the weather and the elements. They also allow for more comfortable interior layouts.

What is a hardtop yacht?

It's just like with cars – hardtop means "fixed roof", and in the powerboat industry it has long been regarded as a design standard for many types of yacht.
Unlike boats and yachts with open cockpits (e.g. runabouts), hardtop yachts have a fixed roof structure with side windows and an entrance facing aft. This provides far better protection from the weather. It's a trend that emerged decades ago in the Scandinavian countries and along the East Coast of the USA, and today it has fans all over the world.

Comfortable interior layouts

Today, almost every shipyard offers hardtop motor yachts in its range. Not least because the often "multi-level" hardtop yachts allow for far more comfortable interior layouts. On the top level, for example, large saloons with all-round views are possible. Cabins, galley and heads are located one or two "decks" below. Hardtop motor yachts and boats are now considered the state of the art in luxury powerboat building.
The comparatively heavy hardtop yachts used to be built almost exclusively as displacement boats in every size class – today, (powerfully engined) planing and semi-displacement hardtop yachts are popular as well.
