Built by Grand Banks, the world benchmark for the classic trawler, this 1991 MY 42 embodies everything that made the yard's reputation: unmistakable lines, careful construction and a genuine long-distance vocation. A cruising and liveaboard boat, built to cover miles in comfort and to entertain family and friends aboard.
Build and sea manners
At 13.17 m long with a 4.13 m beam, 1.30 m draft and a 16-tonne displacement, the MY 42 delivers the stability and inertia typical of Grand Banks trawlers. The hull is GRP, the decks laid in teak - the yard's signature material, as good-looking as it is sure-footed. The flybridge, teak cockpit and OPACMAR hydraulic passerelle round out a boat designed for outdoor living.
Power and accommodation
Propulsion comes from a CUMMINS 6BT5 210 hp, 6-cylinder raw-water cooled engine on shaft drive, showing 2,085 hours. At a 6-knot cruising speed for 18 litres per hour, with 2,200 litres of diesel aboard, range matches the most ambitious programmes. Fresh water capacity is 1,000 litres. Below, three cabins and six berths welcome up to 8 people, with a full galley (PRINCESS SEAWARD hob and oven, electric fridge, dishwasher) and hot water.
