The IMX 40 is renowned throughout the sailing world as one of the most successful "cruiser/racer" models from X-Yachts. With lines drawn by Niels Jeppesen, she offers fantastic sailing characteristics that perform exceptionally well on the race course (both Full Crew and Double Handed). At the same time, the spacious and classic X-Yachts interior makes her an excellent, safe, and comfortable cruising and holiday boat for the whole family.
The boat's construction offers the pinnacle of strength and performance: X-Yachts' well-known and powerful galvanized steel bottom frame absorbs all loads from the keel and rig, providing an extremely stiff, solid, and safe boat under all conditions. Furthermore, the boat is equipped with a high-quality carbon mast and a large, precise carbon wheel, which minimizes weight aloft, provides a fantastic helm feel, and ensures maximum sail-carrying capability. The light and rigid construction offers enormous potential for high top speeds under the right conditions—we have personally seen a whopping 25.5 knots on the GPS during downwind sailing!
"Xbox" (NOR 10133) is a 2002 model that has been continuously updated and professionally maintained to keep an absolute top standard. With a newer engine, modern lithium battery bank, comprehensive B&G electronics package, and a solid, modern sail wardrobe, this boat is ready for new adventures without the need for immediate investments.

Significant Upgrades and Highlights
Construction extras: Carbon mast and large carbon wheel. Solid integrated steel frame in the bottom for optimal safety and hull stiffness. The light and responsive construction invites thrilling downwind sailing.
Engine & Drive: New Volvo Penta D2-40 with Saildrive 130 SR installed in 2016. Latest upgrade with a new saildrive bellow in 2024.
Below the waterline: Professionally upgraded to Nautix racing antifouling (from VC17) in 2024 for minimal friction and optimal protection. Extra lead in the keel for shorthanded sailing (300 kg).
Power & Capacity: State-of-the-art electrical system installed in 2020 with 2 x RITAR 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 lithium batteries, monitored by a Victron SmartShunt. Victron IP43 Smart charger (2023) and Orion-Tr Smart DC/DC charger (2021).
Rigging & Deck Equipment: Completely new rod rigging and halyards (DSK78) in 2022. Carbon bowsprit (2014), Smarttune wireless forestay sensor (2022), and extra-fast KSW52 winches (2021). Engbo Maxi aft windlass (2016) makes anchoring in natural harbors a breeze.
Electronics & Navigation: Comprehensive B&G package including an upgraded ACP autopilot to H3000, Halcyon gyro compass, V60 VHF with two wireless handsets (2021), as well as a Teltonika 4G router connected with a Raspberry Pi for wireless streaming of NMEA data to a tablet/PC.
