Die Oyster ist seit 14 Jahren in meinem Besitz und wird nun aus Altersgründen verkauft. Der helle Deckssalon ist etwas ganz Wunderbares - die Fenster lassen Licht und Wärme herein und sind, wenn es zu warm wird, schnell mit Blenden aus Segeltuch versehen, die außen mit Tenax-Knöpfen angebracht werden. Der Innenausbau ist komplett aus Mahagoni, in die Bodenbretter sind Intarsienstreifen aus hellem Holz eingelegt. Die Deckenbeleuchtung wurde auf LED umgerüstet.

Die großen Passagen - zweimal über den Atlantik hin und zurück und mehrmals Madeira, Kanaren, Azoren, Portugal - habe ich immer einhand gemacht. Entsprechend ist das Schiff ausgerüstet: Autopilot, Aries-Windsteuerung, Radar, AIS, fernbedienbare Ankerwinsch.

Die Solarmodule reichen aus, um den größten Stromfresser, den Kühlschrank, zu versorgen. Auf Langfahrt kommt ein äußerst zuverlässiger Ampair-Schleppgenerator zum Einsatz, der bei 5 kn Fahrt permanent 4 A erzeugt, genug für Kühlschrank, Lichter, Elektronik und Radargerät. Der Windgenerator liefert ab 15 kn Wind. Um ruhig auch mal ein paar Stunden am Stück schlafen zu können, habe ich das Radar alle 10 Minuten in die Runde schauen lassen. Ein lauter Extra-Pieper gibt Alarm. Der AIS-Transponder ist ein weiterer Sicherheitsfaktor. Am mitgelieferten Computer (mit aller wichtigen nautischen Software und weltweiten Garmin-Seekarten) wird der Closest point of approach CPA eingestellt und auf das AIS übertragen. Der Alarm, der im Fall einer Annäherung ausgelöst wird, weckt den tiefsten Schläfer. Das AIS ist mit dem Plotter verbunden. Die Daten jedes Schiffes in der Nähe (MMSI, Name, Größe, Kurs, Speed u.a.) sind hier einsehbar. Das DSC-fähige VHF-Funkgerät ermöglicht es, ein Schiff selektiv anzurufen und ggf. um Kursänderung zu bitten, falls die Annäherung kritisch werden könnte.

Um auf See Wetterdaten zu erhalten und um Emails schreiben und empfangen zu können, habe ich eine Yaesu HF-Anlage mit Pactor-Modem installiert. Sie funktioniert einwandfrei. Für die Erdung wurde innen eine Fläche des Bootsbodens mit Kupferblech ausgeschlagen, und parallel zum Achterstag habe ich eine isolierte Drahtantenne angebaut. Ein automatischer Antennentuner stellt die Antenne optimal auf die gewählte Frequenz ein. Da ich leider kein Amateurfunker bin (für diese ist Winlink kostenlos), musste ich jährlich 250, später 275 US-Dollars für Sailmail berappen. Das lohnt sich nur, wenn man lange auf See ist. Zuletzt habe ich Garmin InReach benutzt. Starlink ist m.E. noch zu teuer.

Das Schiff habe ich kürzlich von Porto Santo in die Algarve zurückgesegelt. Es liegt aktuell bei Tavira / Algarve vor Anker. Als Mitglied des dortigen Yachtclubs kann ich den Parkplatz nutzen und auch bei längerer Abwesenheit das Dinghi am Steg lassen.

Flüge nach Faro werden von Ryanair für kleines Geld angeboten. Bei Abschluss eines Kaufvertrages übernehme ich die Hälfte der Reisekosten.
