The Tortarolo 55 is a custom monohull performance cruiser-racer with a steel hull built to C35 specification, using 5 mm steel in the bottom and 4 mm in the deck. With a 16 m LOA and 2.8 m draft, the design is suited to both offshore sailing and comfortable cruising. The 2021 refit included a carbon mast and boom by Axxon Composites, while the standing rigging was replaced in 2016.

Accommodation is arranged across three cabins with ten berths, two showers and one independent WC. The sailing systems include Harken deck hardware and Navtec hydraulics, with a full North Sails wardrobe comprising ten sails. Antifouling is recorded for 2025.

Onboard systems include an 85 HP Nanni Turbo Diesel engine from 2016, with approximately 800 hours, plus Raymarine wind instruments and autopilot. The electrical installation has eight batteries and 24V / 12V systems supported by four solar panels. Auxiliary equipment includes a 10-person liferaft, a dinghy with Honda outboard engine, and an Aquabase watermaker producing 60 l/h.
