The Zuidkaper 40 ft is the sister ship of the well-known Noordkaper and has always been in the ownership of her first and only owner. The Noordkaper and Zuidkaper design is the same design of Martin Bekebrede. The underwater hull is identical. Above the waterline, however, she has a more modern appearance, with slightly less sheer and a fold-down transom, making it easy to step aboard directly from the pontoon.

The yacht is currently located in Breskens and has been fully serviced and is ready to set sail immediately. The underwater hull has been treated with a Coppercoat epoxy system and will be given a new layer of Coppercoat.

The Zuidkaper 40 is a quality yacht with an impressive appearance: tough and robust, yet stylish and comfortable. Wide side decks and the wheelhouse, offering a wonderful panoramic view, make life on board under sail a truly enjoyable experience. The wheelhouse is a real eye-catcher; in bad weather, it provides everyone on board with a warm, dry and safe place to stay. The construction and quality of the welding are more reminiscent of commercial shipbuilding than traditional yacht construction.

The well-balanced length-to-beam ratio provides surprisingly spacious accommodation and plenty of room for modern-day comfort. The yacht is particularly well suited to long-distance cruising, especially with a small crew or when sailing shorthanded, and is equally suitable for living aboard. The panoramic deck saloon with interior steering position further enhances her cruising and liveaboard capabilities. The lifting centreboard allows the yacht to navigate shallow waters.

This yacht was custom-built to the specifications of the current owner and is equipped with virtually every option imaginable. The yacht was built to CE Category A, suitable for ocean sailing. VAT has been demonstrably paid, supported by a Dutch customs declaration.
