Ragamuffin of Cape Town is a privately owned, one-owner-from-new example of the popular Leopard 43 cruising catamaran. Built by Robertson & Caine in Cape Town, she combines reassuring construction, a practical four-cabin layout and the easy handling for which the Leopard range has become so well regarded.
Her owner previously sailed a Robertson & Caine 42 and chose the Leopard 43 for its improved length, attractive hull form, capable sailing performance and particularly successful interior arrangement. As a regular visitor to Cape Town during 2005, the owner was also able to follow Ragamuffin’s construction while she was being built.
Designed as a comfortable and dependable family cruising yacht, Ragamuffin offers generous accommodation for up to ten people. Each of the four principal cabins has a proper double berth approached from the side, avoiding the inconvenience of climbing over the foot of the bed. Every cabin benefits from its own en-suite heads compartment, while two additional single berths are located in the forward compartments.
The raised helm accommodates two people and provides excellent visibility forward while remaining protected beneath the hard bimini. Wide decks, secure stainless-steel rails and level stern boarding platforms make movement around the yacht straightforward. Her shallow 1.30 m draught is ideal for exploring anchorages and cruising grounds where deeper yachts may be restricted.
Ragamuffin is lying on the island of Lefkas, at the heart of one of the Mediterranean’s most attractive cruising areas.

Accommodation and interior
The bridgedeck saloon is bright and sociable, with a large dining table and U-shaped seating. Forward-facing windows provide excellent visibility, while opening ports and an overhead hatch encourage natural ventilation. The saloon table may be converted to provide an additional double berth.
The galley forms part of the main living area and is equipped with a two-burner LPG cooker with oven and broiler, double stainless-steel sinks, pressurised hot and cold water, a 12V refrigerator/freezer, work surfaces and useful storage.
Four double cabins are arranged within the hulls, each with an opening hatch, ventilation fan, reading lights and storage. Each cabin has a private en-suite heads compartment with washbasin, mixer tap, manually operated marine toilet and shower. Two holding tanks were reportedly replaced in 2023.
Cockpit, helm and deck
The spacious cockpit is arranged for relaxed outdoor living and is protected by a hard bimini, which has received additional stainless-steel support aft. Six blue-and-white cockpit cushions are included.
The elevated helm position seats two and offers a clear view forward. Steering is by wheel, with an emergency tiller supplied. Engine controls, compass and sailing instruments are grouped around the helm for convenient operation.
The broad side decks have moulded non-slip surfaces, stainless-steel guardrails and strategically positioned grab handles. Twin transom steps provide easy access to the water, tender or quay.
A particularly useful addition is the approximately 2.8 m hinged passerelle positioned between the davits. The yacht also carries a quick-deployment stern-to mooring arrangement with two approximately 80 m warps stored in the stern lockers.

The engines drive through stainless-steel shafts and are fitted with upgraded alternators. Broker’s comments
Ragamuffin represents an appealing opportunity to acquire a proven, privately owned Leopard 43 with a particularly practical cruising layout. Her four en-suite double cabins, large saloon, protected cockpit, elevated helm and shallow draught make her equally suitable for extended family cruising, entertaining friends or spending long periods aboard.
The yacht has remained with the same owner since new and has received a number of thoughtful cruising additions, including solar charging, an enlarged domestic battery bank, upgraded ground tackle, an easy-use passerelle and a recently replaced Highfield tender.
Currently lying in Lefkada, Ragamuffin is well positioned for inspection and for immediate access to the Ionian cruising grounds.
