With the First 30, a new category of sailing yachts is introduced: the Planing Cruiser. This innovative concept redefines small-boat sailing by combining outstanding performance with exceptional ease of handling, while still offering the comfort of a well-equipped cruiser. It delivers a unique blend of qualities that creates an unmatched experience for seasoned sailors, competitive racers, as well as leisure sailors and families alike.

The yacht is available with two distinct deck layouts: one optimized for cruising, the other for racing. Both cockpit configurations offer generous space and thoughtfully designed ergonomics. In the cruiser version, both the mainsail and jib are controlled via large winches, making sail handling smooth and requiring minimal physical effort. All essential lines remain within easy reach—even when heeled—while keeping the cockpit floor clean and uncluttered.

The racing layout builds on this with the addition of a mainsail traveller and extra trim controls, creating a familiar and efficient working environment tailored to the needs of performance-oriented sailors.
