Fisher 34, ready to set sail.
Fisher 34 “Vesta” – A charming English motorsailer with a new Yanmar engine and full equipment
The Fisher 34 “Vesta” is a beautiful, classically styled English motor sailer with a warm, inviting appearance, excellent seaworthiness, and a surprising level of comfort on board. This robustly built design by David Freeman and Gordon Wyatt is known worldwide as one of the most beloved motor sailers in its class. A boat for enthusiasts of solid construction, safe sailing, and relaxed cruising.
The Fisher 34 combines the stability and shelter of a motor yacht with the charm and tranquility of sailing. Thanks to its long keel, heavy-duty construction, and sheltered wheelhouse, the boat is equally at home on inland waterways and the open sea. The current owners have sailed the “Vesta” on the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, and to Sweden and Denmark, among other destinations.
Recently serviced and technically maintained
The “Vesta” is in neat and well-maintained condition. In 2008, a powerful and reliable 53 pk Yanmar 4JH4AE diesel engine was installed. This modern four-cylinder diesel engine has approximately 2,000 operating hours, runs smoothly and efficiently, and, together with the large 360-liter diesel tank, ensures a long cruising range. Fuel consumption is approximately 2 liters per hour.
In addition, various maintenance tasks have been carried out in recent years, including painting the hull in 2023 and upgrades to the rigging and deck equipment. The vessel is hauled out annually during the winter and has undergone preventive treatment against osmosis.
Complete electrical system
The vessel is also exceptionally well-equipped electrically for extended stays on board. Features include:
AGM deep-cycle batteries for the starter and service circuits
TBS combo inverter/charger
Shore power system
3 solar panels, each 80 watts
12V and 230V onboard electrical system
Bow thruster with joystick control
This makes the “Vesta” ideally suited for longer voyages and a comfortable stay on board without having to rely on ports.
Comprehensive navigation and safety equipment
The vessel is equipped with a complete set of navigation equipment, including:
Raymarine E7 chartplotter with GPS
Autopilot with rudder position indicator
AIS receiver
Depth sounder
Wind gauge
Marine radio with DSC
Magnetic steering compass
Safety features include bilge pumps, a radar reflector, fire extinguishers, stainless steel guardrails, and a sturdy anchor system with 60 meters of chain.
Classic ketch rig
The “Vesta” is built as a two-masted ketch with aluminum spars and stainless steel rigging. This rig offers great flexibility and makes the boat easy to trim and comfortable to sail, even with a smaller crew.
The sail set includes, among other things:
Mainsail with reefing system
Mizzen sail
Genoa from 2022 with UV strip
Anderson 40 self-tailing sheet winches (2022)
Lewmar mast winches
The sails are made of Dacron and supplied by Elvström and De Vries Maritiem.
Warm and inviting interior
Inside, the “Vesta” immediately exudes warmth and charm thanks to its classic teak paneling, dark blue upholstery, and practical layout. The boat features:
Sheltered wheelhouse
Cozy salon with dinette
Owner’s cabin
Lockable V-berth in the forepeak
4 fixed berths + additional sleeping space
Galley with oven and refrigerator
Wallas diesel heater
With a headroom of approximately 1.90 meters, the boat offers a remarkable amount of living space and comfort for longer stays on board.
A boat with character and proven seaworthiness
The Fisher 34 “Vesta” is no ordinary yacht, but a vessel with character, history, and charm. A reliable motor-sailer for enthusiasts of classic sailing, long voyages, and comfortable living on board. Ready to sail, fully equipped, and available immediately.
