Del Mar is a genuine Bodrum built sailing gulet, laid down in 1999, and the hull is solid mahogany end to end, no substitute wood and no shortcuts, with teak decks and teak cabin soles underfoot rather than something cheaper under a veneer. She also carries the traditional long rounded stern rather than a flat transom, the hull narrowing and softening all the way aft instead of being cut off square. It is a harder shape to build, and most yards stopped bothering years ago, which is why she has a profile in the water that newer gulets don't. Stand next to her at the dock and it shows: the wood has a depth and warmth to it that photographs tend to flatten out, and she gets a second look from people walking past who couldn't tell you why. That distinction matters more than it sounds, because a lot of what sells today as a "classic gulet" is really a motor yacht carrying a rig for effect. Del Mar isn't that. She's taken first place twice in the Bodrum Gulet Racing category, which isn't something we'd normally lead with, but it tells you something a spec sheet can't. This is a boat that actually sails, and sails well, against other Bodrum built boats built for the same purpose. It's a small, unusual piece of history for a yacht her size, and not something you can retrofit.

At twenty seven years old she's in excellent shape. She's not showroom new, nobody would claim that of a wooden boat this age, but she's honestly and properly sound, which matters more. That soundness is largely down to a complete refit in 2025 that wasn't cosmetic. Everything a new owner would otherwise have to gamble on was gone through and replaced: electrics, plumbing, batteries, solar system, electronics, hydraulics. The galley and saloon were rebuilt from the inside out, new flooring was laid throughout, and the air conditioning is new in every cabin. None of it touched her character. She still feels and moves like a 1999 Bodrum boat, she just no longer asks you to take a chance on wiring and plumbing that her age would normally imply. And if that still isn't far enough, the work doesn't have to stop where it stopped. She can be taken all the way to as new condition, everything included, down to a new engine meeting current emissions requirements if that is something you need for your flag or simply for your own peace of mind. The same goes for the rig, the remaining systems and the interior, to whatever standard a buyer wants her specified. There is no guesswork involved: tell us what you want done and we will put together a proper scope of work and a price for it, so you can see exactly what it costs before committing to anything. None of it is built into the asking price, but it does mean you decide how far she goes rather than inheriting someone else's stopping point.

Below, she sleeps the way a gulet this size should. There's a master cabin and three guest cabins, all four with double beds, three of them with their own bathroom, and a separate crew cabin with its own toilet and shower. It's enough separation that a full boat doesn't feel crowded. There's a proper dining table inside and another set up on deck, so where you eat depends on the evening rather than the weather. Power comes from her original MAN engine, a little over 3,400 hours on the clock, backed by a 2020 Caterpillar generator, neither one showy, both doing exactly what they're meant to.

She's in the water now, ready to be sailed, chartered or lived aboard, with nothing left unfinished. For viewings, further photographs, or any question at all, contact Gokberk Sayar directly on +39 328 735 0529.
