Lulu Tao is the performance version of the Beneteau 50, equipped with the taller 3-spreader mast and deeper keel, giving her improved sailing performance and allowing for a larger sail area than the standard version. She has proven herself as a capable offshore cruiser during more than 20,000 nautical miles of sailing, including Atlantic and Pacific crossings.
The boat has a 4 double-cabin layout with 2 heads. The two forward cabins can be opened up to function as one large master cabin, creating a spacious owner’s area forward. In one of these cabins, the berth is designed from production to fold up into a couch/lounge configuration during the day while still functioning as a full berth when needed.
The original forward skipper cabin has been rebuilt into dedicated dive equipment storage, and one of the original heads has been converted into a practical storage/workroom for tools and spare parts. This makes Lulu Tao especially well-suited for serious long-distance cruising, diving and full-time liveaboard life.
The interior offers a warm and practical onboard environment with extensive storage throughout. Ventilation and natural light are provided by numerous opening hatches, ports and skylights, while the aft cabins are equipped with air conditioning for both cooling and heating. Lulu Tao has been continuously upgraded and maintained during our ownership, including a major refit in Denmark in 2022–2023 before departing on our circumnavigation.
Accommodations
Lulu Tao is configured as a comfortable and capable liveaboard cruiser with accommodation for up to 8 people. She features 4 double cabins, a skipper cabin with two bunkbeds, which has been modified for storage space for diveequipment. Lulu Tao has 3 heads with showers (one currently rebuilt into a large storage/workroom for tools and spare parts).
The performance-version layout combines offshore practicality with comfortable living spaces, making her ideal for long-distance cruising or full-time liveaboard life.

Structural work:
Following a grounding in 2002, the boat underwent a very extensive professional structural rebuild at Jakob Jensen Shipyard in Denmark. The entire innerliner structure around the keel area was rebuilt and fiberglassed directly to the hull, significantly strengthening the boat beyond original production standards. Keel bolt load areas were enlarged and reinforced during the process.
