This "Amsterdammer"-type tugboat is a characterful boat that remained in commercial service until only a few years ago. The beautiful 3-cylinder Kromhout diesel engine not only enhances her authentic character but also makes every voyage a truly enjoyable experience. With an air draft of approximately 2.00 metres, with the wheelhouse folded down, she offers access to an extensive cruising area. Thanks to her generous beam, the vessel provides a surprisingly comfortable living accommodation. The modern fore cabin offers a pleasant living space, while the practical aft cabin is fitted with a shower and toilet. The central heating and the generator make the vessel largely self-sufficient and suitable for year-round use. The history of this tugboat is also remarkable. She was built for the Amsterdam Municipal Cleansing Department under the name SR 12. In 1945 she became the property of Shipyard De Overtoom, where she was renamed into Narrow-Escape. Since 1952 she served with the Netherlands Dock and Shipbuilding Company (NDSM) under the name Shipdock VI. In our opinion, this is a unique and atmospheric vessel, perfectly suited for extended cruises on the European inland waterways, while also making an impressive appearance at maritime events and gatherings of historic commercial vessels.
