Launched in April 2010 by Faurby Yacht in Skærbæk. A long, slender Scandinavian performance cruiser designed by Niels Peter Faurby, combining an easily driven hull with a high-quality teak interior and comprehensive cruising equipment. This particular 396 de Luxe was specified with a number of upgrades from new, including a 9/10 Seldén mast with rod rigging and an additional 800 mm of mast height, electric Andersen genoa winches, a SwingThruster bow thruster, Bartels furling system below deck, teak bathing platform, additional interior cabinetry and Yachtiflex slatted bed bases. The cockpit navigation has since been upgraded with a Garmin GPSMAP 9-inch chartplotter, and an electric anchor windlass has been installed. During the sailing season, the yacht has primarily been used in Danish waters, with Skærbæk, Denmark and Wismar, Germany serving as home harbours. According to the owner, winter service and regular maintenance have consistently been carried out by Niels Peter Faurby's boat yard, including routine engine service and antifouling. The yacht has always been stored indoors at the Faurby facilities during winter.
