Atreju is a well-documented and proven blue-water sailboat, built for long distances and demanding conditions.

The boat was hand-built at Jacobsens Plads in Troense by Jens Bækholm based on designs by Klavs Weis-Fogh, who has designed several successful long-distance boats. About six boats have been built based on this hull design, and several of the sister ships are still sailing the world’s oceans—a testament to the quality and durability of the design.

Atreju was launched in 1996 following an exceptionally fine and meticulous craftsmanship. Over the years, she has proven her qualities as a strong, stable, and seaworthy long-distance boat with a simple and reliable setup.

In 2023, Atreju returned home from a successful circumnavigation with a family on board. The boat is therefore not merely theoretically suited for ocean sailing—it has just proven it in practice. It remains fully rigged and ready to take its next owner safely on new adventures, whether the dream is a long-distance voyage, a circumnavigation, or many years of safe sailing in Nordic and international waters.
